Methods for Cleaning and Maintaining Solid Wood Bookcases

To keep the bookshelf looking good and to ensure its longevity, regular cleaning and maintenance are essential.

01/

Regular cleaning: When wiping the bookshelf, choose a soft dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth to wipe along the grain of the solid wood, avoiding the use of an overly wet cloth to prevent moisture from penetrating the wood and causing swelling or deformation.

02/

Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the surface of wooden bookcases to fade, affecting their appearance. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid placing bookcases in areas with direct strong sunlight. If the bookcase is located next to a window, curtains can be used to reduce sunlight exposure.

03/

A solid wood bookcase needs to be regularly applied with wood wax oil to maintain the sheen of the wood and prevent drying and cracking. Before application, clean the bookcase thoroughly, then evenly apply the wood wax oil, and finally wipe off any excess oil with a clean cloth.

04/

To prevent collisions and scratches on the solid wood bookshelf, it is advisable to avoid placing sharp objects on the shelf and to prevent heavy items from falling. For existing scratches, a wood repair pen can be used for restoration.
